We will do everything we can to help you through the insurance maze.
Dr. Redwine does not participate with ANY insurance companies. In insurance jargon this means that Dr. Redwine is considered an "out of network provider". Every policy is different but it is most likely that you would still be reimbursed for your surgery, but at a reduced percentage rate. You can find that percentage rate by calling your insurance company and asking what your level of reimbursement is for an "out of network provider".
As a courtesy to our patients we will submit your insurance forms for you. However, keep in mind that because we don't participate their contract is with you, the subscriber, and they will not give us any information as to reimbursement amounts.
Payment Options
We understand that our “out of network” status can increase the financial burden of your investment in optimal health. To assist you in pursuing the care you need we have several payment options for your pre-operative deposit.
1. If you choose to pay cash or cashier’s check in full at the time of your surgery you will receive a 5% cash discount.
2. You may use Mastercard, Visa, cashier’s check, check or cash.
3. We offer CareCredit, a division of GE Consumer Finance. Through CareCredit you may choose 3, 6, or 12 month plans at no interest to you as long as your balance is paid to them, in full, within the designated time. They also offer extended plans at a fixed interest rate. Please use the CareCredit link to investigate these options.

Please understand that if you choose to use CareCredit your contract is exclusively with them
If You Have a PPO
When the insurance representative tells you your coverage percentage rate it is important to know that they do not mean that they will reimburse you that percentage of Dr. Redwine's fee. They will reimburse you that percentage of what they consider "Usual and Customary Reimbursement" or "UCR".
Usually the other surgery providers involved with your surgery (St. Charles Medical Center, anesthesia, pathology) do participate with your insurance and for those services you would be reimbursed to the full extent of your policy coverage. To be 100% certain of their participation you may want to call St. Charles at 1-800-972-3194 and ask for "patient accounts".
If you would like to contact your insurance company to find out their UCR for your surgery just call or email Kate. She will give you the procedure code that we anticipate will be used for billing your surgery. The code may change after your surgery depending on what Dr. Redwine did and found. Keep in mind that there is never any guarantee regarding what your insurance company will actually pay for the actual procedure perfomed.
If You Have an HMO
If you have this type of insurance you must have a referral from your primary physician before they will cover any part of your surgery charges.
If You Have Medicare, Oregon Health Plan, Medicaid or Tri-Care
Unfortunately we cannot work with you if you have the above insurers because of their fee setting policies.
